All Course curriculum is taught and certified through the American Heart Association (AHA). Certification cards are valid for 2 years once claimed. The information below is applicable to public courses offered by Sauk Valley CPR as well as instructor-arranged skills check off sessions.
As of January 2025, we will no longer be accepting payment the day of class. In order to enroll for a course or skills check off, please email info@saukvalleycpr.com with your name and course and you will be provided an electronic invoice to your email address to pay online through your bank, debit, or most major credit cards. We also accept payment through Venmo (@SaukValleyCPR) and CashApp ($SaukValleyCPR). Any other payment arrangement requests need to be discussed and approved by the instructor prior to the day of class.
If you must cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours notice by emailing or texting the instructor in order to receive a full refund or have it applied to another course per our Terms and Conditions.
We offer two different options to completing your class.
If you are taking a blended class (the educational part of the class is online), the online portion is separately purchased through the AHA at https://shopcpr.heart.org . This is ideal if you are unable to dedicate a longer block of time for a traditionally taught class. Complete the online portion at your own pace and afterwards, schedule an appointment with our instructor to verify your skills in order to receive your certification. The skills checkoff fee is $40. Proof of successful completion of the online portion must be provided to the instructor prior to skills verification.
If you are taking an instructor-led class, all training and written/skills testing is included in the scheduled class time. This is a great option if you are new to these skill sets or prefer more 1:1 interaction as you learn.
Once you have successfully completed your course, you will be sent an email from heart.org with a link to claim your e-card. The link will take you to the American Heart Association site where you can view and/or print a certificate or wallet card with your certification information. You are not considered certified until you claim your card! Make sure to provide your instruct a valid email to submit for your card. We respect your privacy and do not release or sell your name or email information to third parties except the American Heart Association for the purpose of certification.
